Circular living, locally

Small actions,bigger loops.

Discover local ways to repair, reuse, refill and share, and see how small actions can add up to something bigger.

Repair

Mend what is broken instead of replacing it.

Reuse

Give good things a second life.

Refill

Bring your own container and skip the packaging.

Share

Borrow, swap and pass things on.

Make your effort visible.

The idea

Value in what is mended.

Like kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with gold, Loop You sees value in what’s mended. Every small action adds a line of gold, and together they close bigger loops.

We care about repair rather than replacement, and about taking part rather than feeling guilty.

How it works

Find it. Do it. Make it visible.

This is the experience we are developing. It is not live yet.

01 · Discover

Find what is near you

People discover relevant local opportunities to repair, reuse, refill or share.

02 · Take action

Join in

People take part in a circular activity, possibly through a time-limited local challenge.

03 · Make it visible

See it add up

Actions can be recorded and, where appropriate, verified, helping build a picture of individual and community participation.

Your reuse identity

There is more than one way to keep things in use.

Six reuse identities make circular living more personal. A short quiz in the Loop You app suggests the one that fits you best, with perhaps a touch of another. The app is still in testing and is not open to the public yet.

The MenderRepair what you can.
The KeeperUse what you have.
The LenderShare what you own.
The Passer-OnGive things a second life.
The ShaperTurn old into new.
The WeaverBring people together.

Why now

Opportunities are scattered. Policy is moving.

People want to make more sustainable choices, but local opportunities can be scattered across businesses, community groups and information sources. Loop You is exploring how to make them easier to discover and participation easier to see.

This is our working hypothesis, which we are testing.

Value lost

An estimated €25.4 trillion value gap

The Circularity Gap Report 2026 puts the “Value Gap” of today’s linear economy at €25.4 trillion (± 4.7 trillion), against €82.6 trillion of global GDP. The report calls this an initial, indicative estimate, not money that could simply be recovered.

Ireland’s strategy

Ireland’s circular economy is moving forward

Ireland’s Circular Economy Strategy 2026–2028 sets out national measures, including a National Pilot Repair Voucher Scheme to be rolled out by 2027 and a target to reach a 12% circular material use rate by 2030.

Right to repair

Repair is becoming a legal expectation

Irish regulations that took effect on 31 July 2026 introduced repair obligations for manufacturers of specified goods, subject to the applicable conditions.

Everyday participation

Interest exists, but barriers remain

EPA-funded research into Irish small and medium-sized enterprises found that engagement with circular business models remains limited, while identifying interest and barriers to wider adoption. It gives context for exploring how local circular opportunities could be easier to find and join. It does not show that Loop You will solve these barriers.
